Song Review: Thomas McConnell, 'Crocodile'

In 2013 Thomas McConnell received major recognition from Paul McCartney when he shared McConnell’s cover of the music legend’s song 'New' on Twitter. A year later the Liverpool-based McConnell has released the rollicking single 'Crocodile', an infectious and stylistically retro tune that’s faded vocals add a texture of rock fervor. Bringing to mind the upbeat spirit of the 60’s, the application of rhythmic background claps adds a cheerful dynamism to the proceedings.

Lyrically, the content is agile with the “crocodile” serving as a clever multi-purpose metaphor for life’s various paradoxes, “I’m sailing down the Nile/I’m wrapped up by my crocodile”. A fun music video to support the single is currently available on YouTube, click here to watch
