It’s that time again…a brand new Eclectic Selection will be premiering on #RKC this Friday (4/10/2015) at 7 pm EST. Playlist No. 5 will include music from the following artists: The Wild Young Hearts, The Everglows, Puppet Rebellion, Mos. Bros., Alpha Rev, Dawes, Ben Howard, Static in Verona, Barcelona, Josh Ritter, Lord Huron, Elenowen, Rosi Golan, The Avett Brothers, Tom Mitchell, Delta Rae, Laura Jansen, Matthew & the Atlas, The Oh Hello’s, Neulore, Grouplove, Gregory Ian Isalov, Radical Face and Band of Horses. Before tonight's broadcast, take a sneak peek into the latest playlist making the radio waves.

Notes of Interest | After premiering exclusively on Eclectic Pop, the 5th playlist of Eclectic Selection will open with The Wild Young Hearts’ latest single “Me and the Moon” off of their new album ‘Feel Good’. Puppet Rebellion’s current single “Watch Me Fall”, the first song featuring the group’s new frontman, Oliver Davies, will also be a part of the roster.

Off their recently released EP ‘Three’, the Nashville based Mos. Bros.’ make their way onto the list with “The Getaway”. The Everglows’ retro tune “It’s Alright (For You & Me)”, Static in Verona’s atmospheric “Black Windows” and Tom Mitchell’s shoegaze-esque “Aim” will be among the music making the evening sing. From their brand new record, 'After It All' -- Delta Rae's "Run" will also be featured.

Making Playlist #5 | A lot of this playlist was influenced by the music heard on television, mainly that of the CW television series "Reign," Artists such as Ben Howard, Laura Jansen, Matthew & the Atlas and Neulore have all been featured on the sudsy historical drama.

After hearing The Oh Hello’s on the network’s cult drama “Beauty and the Beast,” they have become a fast-rising personal favorite and their calming number “Cold Is the Night” will be heating up the airwaves.

Television and movies tend to be a treasure trove of incredible music. Having first heard Rosi Golan and Barcelona on “The Vampire Diaries”, Alpha Rev on a commercial for “One Life to Live”, Lord Huron in the "Endless Love" remake and Elenowen and The Avett Brothers on the dearly missed “One Tree Hill”. A little trivia: songs from The Avett's album “I and Love and You” exclusively comprised the soundtrack of an entire episode of the long-running series.

Discovering the Others | If Grouplove sounds familiar it’s because they had a hit single back in 2011 with “Tongue Tied”. After looking deeper into their catalog, I came across a lesser-known song from their eponymously titled debut EP. Its energy seemed a strong match for playlist #5. Radical Face and Band of Horses’ mellow songs similarly complimented the evening’s tone.

I was fortunate to hear Dawes for the first time when they opened for Bob Dylan during his “Never Ending” Tour. Their performance of “A Little Bit of Everything” ranks as one of the most memorable live performances I’ve ever seen and hearing their studio version is equally impressive.

How to Listen | You can listen to Eclectic Selection via the LIVE stream on #RKC’s website here or dial into RKC’s channel on the TuneIn App here.
