Writing About: 'The OA' Season 1 on Netflix - Theories & Clues

Alternative poster for The OA on Netflix
“The OA” is one of the rare shows to take a real-world approach to a science-fiction story. A sort of "Friday Night Lights" meets "Lost." The Netflix original was co-created by indie darlings Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. If those names sound familiar that is because they are the geniuses behind the indie thrillers, “Sound of My Voice” and “The East.”

As both of the aforementioned Marling/Batmanglij projects tend to do, “The OA” quickly entangles viewers within its intricate web of grounded mystery and sci-fi wonderment. So much of what drives “The OA” is how it works like a Rorschach to reveal your answers to its questions.

Let's Discuss: The 'Disorder' Remake

Deadline is reporting that “Logan” director James Mangold will helm the English-language remake of “Disorder” aka “Maryland.” “Disorder” is a 2015 French-language thriller that is currently streaming on Netflix Instant (U.S.). Co-written and directed by Alice Winocour, the original is an engaging and enigmatic film that features strong lead performances. You can read Eclectic Pop’s full review of it, here.

The movie centers on Vincent (Matthias Schoenaerts) a soldier suffering from PTSD, who takes a job working security for a wealthy man and his family. When the husband leaves on a business trip, Vincent is left in charge of protecting the man’s wife, Jesse (Diane Kruger), and their young son.

Let's Talk About: Saying Goodbye to 'Pretty Little Liars'

It is hard to believe, but after 7 entertaining seasons, “Pretty Little Liars” is ending. Fans have had a considerable amount of time to prepare for this reality, and while the show has seen its fair share of ups and downs, it does not make its impending absence any less sad.

For seven years, “Pretty Little Liars” has been there, through our own ups and downs. It’s been there during the cold nights of winter, and the hot evenings of summer. Life has changed so much for the characters on-screen, which is an experience undoubtedly felt by its viewers, who have also changed through the years.

Quick Hit Movie Reviews #9: '10 Cloverfield Lane' & More...

In the #9 edition of the Quick Hit Movie Reviews feature, Eclectic Pop reviews three very different films. This strange range of movie reviews might seem as far disconnected as you can imagine. However, if you consider that each movie is about how a single person changes the course of the lead character’s life, an odd connection develops between them.

In “10 Cloverfield Lane,” a young woman’s reality is questioned by a stranger who claims he has saved her from the apocalypse. In “The Family Fang,” a pair of siblings reluctantly reunite with their eccentric parents, who go missing shortly thereafter.

Writing About: 'Poldark' Season 3 Premiere Info & Spoiler Alerts

Oh “Poldark.” What a series. The BBC, PBS Masterpiece series is one of those rare TV shows to have it all - riveting romance, lavish costumes, and exciting adventures. It is these three attributes that make “Poldark” as fun of a show to write about, as it is to watch.

In Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), audiences have found a dimensional character, who can just as easily inspire one moment, as he frustrates the next. Ross is complicated and so his relationship with his devoted wife, Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson).
